We know the importance of repairing your windshield or replacing damaged auto glass and that is why Germania Insurance makes the process easy and convenient for you. Germania Insurance offers cost-saving windshield repair to policyholders who need it. If the chip or crack is less than the size of a dollar bill (6 inches), chances are that the damage can be repaired. Germania even waives the deductible for windshield repair service, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to you (certain restrictions may apply). Keep in mind, if your windshield is chipped it’s only a matter of time before it spreads and becomes a larger crack that must be replaced.
If your windshield has a chip that needs repair or if any glass on your vehicle requires replacement, you can conveniently report auto glass claims on the Safelite website or you can call Germania Glass Service at (888) 246-6432 and follow the phone prompts to report your auto glass claim to a customer service representative.

Roadside Assistance

Don’t Have Roadside Assistance Coverage? Contact Your Agent.
Whether you are driving across town or across the country, it’s reassuring to know that Germania’s Roadside Assistance Coverage protects you when you are on the road. This coverage offers additional protection, should you ever need to use it.
This coverage is designed exclusively for Germania Insurance and is available to Germania Insurance auto policyholders for a nominal premium. By adding this optional coverage to your auto policy, we can help you achieve peace of mind while you are on the road. Call your agent today to have Roadside Assistance added to your policy.
When you add Roadside Assistance to your policy, we can respond quickly to provide you with the best service and protection available anywhere. Roadside Assistance includes travel and car care discounts too.
Policyholder Benefits:
This optional coverage provides you Roadside Assistance. Policy limits include up to five services per 12-month policy period; with one tow per disablement.
24-Hour Emergency Towing Service:
Your vehicle may be towed to the destination of your choice. The first 50 miles are covered under your Roadside Assistance coverage and any mileage over the 50-mile limit will be paid by you at the time of service.
24-Hour Emergency Road Service:
You are covered for emergency road service throughout the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
24-Hour Emergency Delivery:
A service truck will deliver emergency supplies of gasoline, water, oil, or other necessary supplies. You only pay for the cost of the supplies.
24-Hour Emergency Battery Service:
We will jumpstart/boost your drained battery and perform minor adjustments to alternators, starters, etc. while on the road.
Lockout Service:
If you are accidentally locked out of your vehicle, you will be covered for us to unlock your vehicles’ passenger compartment.
Map Routing Service:
We will, at no charge, provide you with directions and travel route to the destination of your choice.
Theft, Hit and Run Protection:
A $500 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for a hit and run damages or stealing your vehicle.

Roadside Assistance Claims Form and Reimbursement
If you already secured a local roadside emergency service and are requesting reimbursement a Roadside Assistance Claim form must be completed. Submit the completed reimbursement form and invoice by mailing them to the address on the form.
The Roadside Assistance vendor has an agreed upon fee schedule with its partner providers. If you go outside of the procedure by contacting a service provider on your own, there is a chance the Roadside Assistance Coverage will not cover the invoice in its entirety. The maximum reimbursement if you go outside of the Roadside Assistance procedure is $50.

What happens after the claim has been reported?
  • After you have reported a claim, a Germania Insurance adjuster will review it.

  • Once the estimate has been approved, the repairs can be scheduled.

Does Germania Insurance have any preferred service facilities?
Yes. Germania Insurance has Premier Service Facilities that are near you to handle your repairs in a fast and efficient manner.  The repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle.   Click here to find a repair facility near you.
If you have a loss or damage to your home, you may choose any contractor you like to complete your repairs.
What to do at the scene of an accident?
  • Relocate vehicle to the closest safe location.
  • Contact the police to determine if an officer should be present.
  • If anyone is hurt, please call 911.
  • Take photos of each damaged vehicle or item.
What information do I exchange at the scene of the accident?
  • Names, phone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses of all involved parties, occupants, and witnesses.
  • Insurance company name, policy number, and phone number.
  • Police report number, officer name, badge number, and phone number.
When can I expect the appraiser to contact me for my inspection?
Typically, the turn-around time is 24–48 business hours.
To whom do I pay my deductible?
It will be the insured’s responsibility to pay the shop their deductible.
What if the initial check is not enough to repair my vehicle?
The shop will need to submit documentation to the appraiser for any additional damage found.
When can I get a rental car?

If the vehicle is drivable, the rental will be authorized upon the agreed repair start date.

What actions do I need to take before filing a claim?
  • For any claim, move and protect your property to prevent further damage.
  • If there’s a water leak, please shut off the water.

After I report my claim, what can I expect from the claims process?
Our adjuster will contact you to set a date and time to complete an inspection. However, during catastrophic events, it might take longer for an inspection to be scheduled.
How long will it take to settle my claim?
We are truly proud of our response time.  Our claims adjusters are equipped with laptop computers and in most cases, we are able to issue a check the day the adjuster reviews your loss.
My home is unlivable; can I stay at a hotel?
Our policy provides additional living expense coverage.  These costs can include food, temporary housing and animal boarding that is above normal living expenses. You will need to keep copies of all your receipts and invoices to support these additional costs.  Please check your policy or ask your adjuster for more details.
How long do I need to keep damaged items around?
Ask your adjuster before discarding any damaged items.
Will my mortgage be listed on my check?
Your mortgage has a financial interest in the property, so they will be included as a payee on your check. It would be a good idea to contact your mortgage, inform them of the claim and ask what their procedures are.
Do I need to hire my own contractor?
Yes, you will need to hire your own contractor to complete the necessary repairs. Our adjuster will make an inspection, complete an estimate and payment will be issued to you.
My contractor says it will cost more than the adjuster estimated. What do I do?
Your contractor will need to submit documentation to the adjuster for review.  He may need to conduct a re-inspection.
